AAPT Anti-Spamming Page

Unsolicited Bulk Email or Usenet News Abuse, sometimes called "spam", is a major problem for ISPs and users alike.  If ISPs do not take action against their customers who spam then they may be indirectly supporting:

ISPs who do not prevent spamming from their systems will probably have to deal with: In the case of newsgroup spamming, sites that leave their News-servers open to posting from the world may also incur very large traffic costs.

It is in the interests of every ISP to block spam in whatever ways are possible -- not only technically, but by educating their users and by taking action against those who repeat their spamming offences.

ISP customers and users of AAPT services are reminded that they are bound by an Acceptable Use Policy (see http://info.connect.com.au/docs/legalese/acceptuse.html) which includes specific guidelines on spam. AAPT actively ensures that this Policy is adhered to and will take appropriate action on any breaches.

The site http://spam.abuse.net/ has an excellent collection of information on what to do to prevent spam.  All AAPT customers are encouraged to make use of this site.
