Setting Up your Web Browser


Dialup Customers

Please choose which browser you need to set up:

Netscape Communicator version 4

  1. Open the Netscape Navigator Web Browser. 
  2. Select the Edit menu. 
  3. Select the Preferences... menu item. 
  4. Click once on the + next to Advanced to display the expanded menu (or double click on Advanced). 
  5. Click once on the Proxies item to display the Proxies options. 
  6. Click the OK button to close the Preferences window. 
  7. You may need to restart Netscape Navigator for the settings to take effect. 

Netscape Navigator versions 2 & 3

  1. Open the Netscape Navigator Web Browser. 
  2. Select Network Preferences from the Options menu. 
  3. Click the Proxies tab. 
  4. Click the OK button to close the dialog box 
  5. You may need to restart Netscape Navigator for the settings to take effect. 

For Netscape Version 2 only: Select Save Options from the Options menu. 

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3

  1. Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Browser. 
  2. From the View menu, select Options
  3. Click on the Connection tab. 
  4. Click on the Settings button. 
  5. Type the following settings in the Servers section: 
  6. Click the OK button to close the Proxy Settings window. 
  7. Click Apply
  8. Click the OK button to close the Options window. 

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4

  1. Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Browser. 
  2. From the View menu, select Options
  3. Click on the Connection tab. 
  4. Click on the Advanced button. 
  5. Type the following settings in the Servers and Port section: 
  6. Click the OK button to close the Proxy Settings window. 
  7. Click Apply
  8. Click the OK button to close the Options window. 

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 and 5.5

  1. Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Browser.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Connections tab.
  4. In the window called Dial-up Settings select the icon that you use to connect to the internet, e.g., Connect.
  5. Click on the button called Settings.
  6. Click in the box called Use a proxy server.
  7. Click on the button called Advanced.
  8. In the box called HTTP type in proxy.connect.com.au, and in the box called Port type in 8080.
  9. Click in the box called Use the same proxy server for all protocols.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click OK again
  12. Click OK once more.
