Frontpage Access
AAPT have provided Frontpage 2000* Extensions on the NT hosting platform.
*Note: this excludes customers on nt-host1 and nt-host2 who have access to
frontpage98 extensions only. If you are in this group, and are using the
Frontpage 2000 client, please be aware that some newly introduced extensions
will not function, as they are not compatible with Frontpage98 extensions.
Note:
http://myweb.com.au = Your WWW address, Eg: the same address that you would use to "view" your website in a web browser.
Using Frontpage 2000
To open an existing web, and edit 'on the fly'.
(This is the most effective way to edit your files if you are online while making modifications)
- Start the Frontpage program
- Open your Web by selecting the File menu and clicking on Open Web.
- In the "Folder name" line enter your web site address, http://myweb.com.au Then click the "Open" button.
- You should be asked for your user details - Enter your username and password, and click "OK"
- You should be able to see the Web Structure
- Make Changes as required, these will be saved automatically when you close the file, or click the save button, and all changes will be visible immediately
To publish a web that is saved locally.
- Open Frontpage
- Open the local web.
- Open the File menu and choose "Publish Web".
- Below "Specify the location to publish your web to," enter your web site address http://myweb.com.au and click on "Publish"
- You should be asked for your user details - Enter your username and password
- If these details are correct it should start transferring pages to your web site.
Using Frontpage 98 (Ver. 3)
To open an existing web, and edit 'on the fly'.

- Start the Frontpage program
- From Front Page explorer go to the File menu and choose Open Frontpage Web
- Choose Open an existing web and click on the More Webs button.
- Type in your url http://myweb.com.au and click on the List Webs button.
- If all is working so far it should find your web and display it in the Frontpage webs found at location box.
- Double click on the web name
- You should be asked for Author permissions - Enter your username and password
- You should be able to see the Web Structure
- Make Changes as required, these will be saved automatically when you close the file, and visible immediatly

- Click on the "More Webs" button
- Type in your url http://myweb.com.au and click on OK
