Email Configuration for Opera
Setting up an account within Opera 6.x for Windows
- Go to the File menu and select Preferences.
- Select the E-mail section from the left hand side.
- Select the option "Use Opera account".
- Select New... - you should see an "E-mail account properties" dialog.
- In the Account tab:
- Enter an Account name for your reference. (eg. "Connect" or
"user@example.com".)
- Enter your Full name as it should appear on outbound email.
- Enter your E-mail address.
- In the Incoming section of the Servers tab:
- Set the Server to
your mail server.
- Leave the Protocol as POP3 and the Port
as 110. Leave TLS unchecked.
- Enter your Username (the first part of your email address).
- Enter your Password.
- In the Outgoing section of the Servers tab:
- Set the Server to
your mail server.
- Leave the Protocol as SMTP and the Port
as 25. Leave TLS unchecked.
- Options not discussed above can be left untouched, or you can
modify them to suit your own preferences.
- You can edit properties for an existing account by going to:
File -> Properties -> E-mail, then selecting
an account and clicking the Properties... button.
