Email Configuration for Netscape Navigator versions 2 & 3
Which version am I using?
To find
out the version number of the software you are using:
- Windows 95 and 3.1 - From the Help menu, select About Netscape
- Macintosh - From the Apple Icon in the top left of the Menu
bar, select About Netscape.
Setting up Netscape Navigator Mail versions 2 and 3
- Open Netscape Navigator.
- From the Options menu Select Mail and News Preferences.
- Select the Servers tab.
- In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server field, type mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the Incoming Mail (POP3) Server field, type mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the POP3 User Name field, type your username only (not your
full User ID). That is, type username without @yourdomain.com.au on the
end.
- Click on the Identity tab.
- Type your first name and surname in the Your Name field. This
will be added to the From field for the messages you send to identify
you more easily.
- Type your email address (username@yourdomain.com.au)
in the Your Email field and the Reply-to Address field.
- If appropriate, type the name of the organisation through which you
have this account in the Your Organization field. If you wish, you
may leave this blank.
- Click OK to close the Preferences window and save your
settings.
- For Netscape Navigator version 2 only
- From the Options menu, select Save Options.
