Email Configuration for Eudora
Which version am I using?
To find out the version number of the software you are using, from the
Help menu, select About Eudora.
Setting up Eudora Mail versions 4.0 and above
- Open Eudora Mail.
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- In the Category section, click on the Getting Started icon.
- In the Real name field, type your first name and surname, for example Jo Citizen. Your name as you type it here will precede your email address in the From field of any email you send so the email recipient can easily identify you as the sender.
- In the Return address field, type your email address username@yourdomain.com.au.
- In the Mail Server (incoming) field, type mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the Login Name field, type your username only (not your full User ID).
- In the Category section, click on the Sending Mail icon.
- Click OK to close the Options window and save your settings.
Setting up Eudora Mail versions 1.5.4 and above
- Open Eudora Mail.
- From the Tools menu, select Options.
- In the Category section, click on the Personal Information
icon.
- In the POP account field, type username@mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the Real name field, type your first name and surname, for
example Jo Citizen. Your name as you type it here will precede your email
address in the From field of any email you send so the email recipient
can easily identify you as the sender.
- In the Return address field, type your email address username@yourdomain.com.au.
- Leave the Dialup username field blank.
- Click on the Hosts icon in the Category section.
- Click OK to close the Options window and save your settings.
Setting up Eudora Mail version 1.5.2
- Open Eudora Mail v1.5.2.
- From the Special menu, select Settings.
- In the Category section, click on the Personal Information
icon.
- In the POP account field, type username@mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the Real name field, type your first name and surname. Your
name as you type it here will precede your email address in the From field
of any email you send so the email recipient can easily identify you as
the sender.
- In the Return address field, type your email address (username@yourdomain.com.au).
- Leave the Dialup username field blank.
- In the Category section, click on the Hosts icon.
- Click OK to close the Settings menu and save your settings.
Setting up Eudora Mail version 1.4.4
Eudora Mail version 1.4.4 was included with the early versions of the Enternet
Software.
- Open Eudora Mail v1.4.4.
- Select Configuration from the Special menu.
- In the POP account field, type username@mail.yourmailserver.com.au
- In the Real name field, type your first name and surname. Your
name as you type it here will precede your email address in the From field
of any email you send so the email recipient can easily identify you as
the sender.
- In the Return address field, type your email address (username@yourdomain.com.au).
- The remaining fields may be left at their default values.
- Click the OK button to close the Configuration window
and save your settings.
