Dialing in with Windows CE

1. Open the Remote Communications folder. To find it:

   • Tap Start, then Programs.
   • Tap Communications.
   • Double-tap Remote Communications.

2. Double-tap Make New Connection. You will be asked for some details:

   • Type a name for the connection (eg. Connect).
   • Select Dial-Up Connection (rather than Direct Connection).
   • Tap Next to continue.

3. Modem selection and dialin number:

   • Choose your modem from the Select a modem box.
   • Enter the Area code and Telephone number of your nearest AAPT POP (available from our POP List).

4. Tap the TCP/IP Settings button.

   • Select Server-assigned IP address.
   • Deselect Log on to network.
   • Select Use software compression.
   • Select Use IP header compression.
   • Select Server-assigned name server addresses.

5. Tap the OK button on the menu bar. Your connection is ready to use.

   • Double-tap Remote Communications.

2. Double-tap the Connect icon (you may have named it differently).

3. Enter your details:

   • Username: enter your full username (ie. user@domain).
   • Password: enter your password.
   • Ensure the Domain box is empty.

4. Tap the Connect button.

1. Double-tap the Inbox icon on your desktop.

2. Tap the Compose menu and select Options.

3. Tap the Services tab. Any installed services will be listed.

4. To create a new service, tap Add, then Enter a unique name for your reference (eg. Connect).

5. Tap OK, then enter these details in the Service Definition screen:

   • Connection: select Connect from the list.
   • POP3 Host: enter your mail server.
   • Password: enter your password.
   • SMTP Host: enter your mail server.
   • Return Address: enter your email address.

6. Tap Next to continue to the General Preferences screen:

   • Select the options that suit you. Alternatively, leave the settings unchanged to accept the defaults.

7. Tap Next to continue to the Inbox Preferences screen:

   • Select the options that suit you. We recommend selecting Full copy of all messages.
   • You may prefer to turn off File attachments if connecting over a slow link.

8. Tap the Finish button. You are now ready to use email.
