If you are connecting for the first time, you are prompted for the phone
number you dial to connect to your local Point of Presence, your User ID
(username@yourdomain.com.au)
and your password. After you provide this information the first time, it
is saved and you will not need to provide it again.
- Wait until you see the PPP ENABLED message followed by the line
My IP address is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (where x indicates a number in
the IP address) which indicates that a connection is established succesfully.
You can now use a range of Internet applications which work with Winsock.
This includes Netscape Navigator, Eudora Mail and WinFTP. Simply minimise
the Trumpet Winsock window and open the application you wish to use.
Remember to close the connection when you have finished
using the Internet. Your Internet connection is open when Trumpet Winsock
is open and you will be billed for that time. To close the connection, select
Bye from the Dialler menu.
