These instructions will guide you through setting up Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing to connect to your account. Ensure you close all applications before starting. Please have a copy of the original Windows XP installation software handy as it may be required by Windows during the setup process.
There are three separate processes involved:
It is assumed that you already have an existing Internet connection configured on the server and a NIC (network interface card) is installed in each computer on your LAN.
The Network will need to have a "Workgroup Name" which is
configured by running the Network Setup Wizard. This is found
by clicking Start/Connect To/Show all Connections.
For the sake of this example the workgroup will be called SUPPORT.
1. Click Start
2. Select Connect To
3. Click on Show all connections
4. With your right mouse button click on Local Area Connection.
