Changing Your Password in Windows XP
It is good security practice to change your password
from time to time. Use the "Manage Your Account" Link on aapt.net.au to quickly and
easily select a new password. Then, insert this new password in your dialer
software. Following are instructions for changing your password in Windows
XP.
Changing your password using Windows XP Network Connections

Ensure your modem is set up ready to make a connection.

In the Windows XP Start menu, click on the Control Panel icon.

In the Control Panel window, click Switch to Classic View. If Switch to Category View is already displayed, skip this step

In the Control Panel window, double-click Network Connections

In the Network Connections window double click on the icon you choose to connect to the Internet.

In the Password field, type your new password. The password is displayed
as asterisks on-screen to keep your password private.

If you wish to save the password on your computer, click once in the box to display a tick beside save this username and password for the following users. Then select whether you want the password to be saved for you only, or for everyone who logs on to your computer

Click on the Dial button to make a connection.
The modem dials in and makes your connection. It is important that you
make the connection to ensure your password is correctly entered and accepted.
If you receive errors, try entering the password again, taking special
care that you are using the correct case. When the connection has been
made successfully, your Windows XP dial-up connection is updated to use
your new password for all future connections.
