Changing Your Password on a Macintosh It
is good security practice to change your password from time to time. Use
the online Account Management Tools to quickly and easily select a
new password
then insert this new password in your dialer software. Following are instructions
for changing your password in Windows 95.
Changing your password using FreePPP FreePPP
is provided with Enternet ver
sion 3.x software.
- Opening FreePPP Setup
- if you HAVE installed the Enternet software.
- Double click on the Macintosh Hard Disk Drive icon.
- Double click on the Enternet folder.
- Dou
ble-click on FreePPP Setup.
- if you HAVE NOT installed the Enternet software.
- Double click on the Macintosh Hard Disk Drive icon.
- Double click on the System Folder.
- Double click
on the Control Panels.
- Double-click on FreePPP Setup.
- If you can not find FreePPP here select Find from the File
menu in the Apple toolbar menu at the top of the screen and search
for
FreePPP to check if it is stored in another location.

- Changing Your Password

By default, the FreePPP Setup window is minimised and does not display
the tabs. If the window is not fully sized, click once on the little
arrow
on the bottom left of the window to display the bottom half with the tabs.
- Click on the Accounts tab
- Click once on the name of your account to highlight it.
- Click Edit to display the Account editing tab.

- In the Password field, type your new account password taking care to
use the correct case. The password is display
ed as asterisks on-screen
to keep your password private.
- Click OK to close all remaining dialog boxes.
If you receive a message asking if you are sure you do not want to enter
an area code for this account, click Yes.
Your Connect dial-in phone number is now up-to-date.
Changing your password using MacPPP
- Opening MacPPP
- Double click on the Macintosh Hard Disk Drive icon.
- Double click
on the System Folder.
- Double click on the Control Panels.
- Double-click on PPP to open the PPP window.
- Changing your password
- In the Password field, type your new account passw
ord taking
care to use the correct case. The password is displayed as spots on-screen
to keep your password private.
- Click once in the box to display a cross beside Save Password.
- Close the MacPPP window and select Save
B> to save your settings.
